KAVX is one of the great destination airports in the country — a 3,000ft single-runway strip on top of a flat-topped peak on Catalina Island. The approach is over the channel; the runway has a hump in the middle, so you can't see the far end on rotation. The buffalo burger at the airport café is the reason.
