KMHV is the home of Scaled Composites, Stratolaunch, and Mojave Air & Space Port — where Voyager (first nonstop unrefueled flight around the world) and SpaceShipOne (first private spacecraft to reach space) were built and flown. The boneyard for Boeing 747s and DC-10s is visible on approach. Half-day round trip from San Diego.
