Auto Heritage and the Wabash

The country's most beautiful cars, a battleground, and Indiana's defining river

KGWB Auburn is the home of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, in the original 1930 art-deco Auburn Automobile Company headquarters; the cars built here defined American luxury before WWII. Southwest to KLAF Lafayette: the Wabash River runs through it, Purdue University is the Cradle of Astronauts (Armstrong, Cernan, and more than two dozen others), and Tippecanoe Battlefield lies eight miles northeast, the 1811 fight that gave William Henry Harrison the campaign slogan Tippecanoe and Tyler Too. Continue southwest to KDNV Danville, just across the Illinois line, for Parke County's 31 covered bridges, more than any other county in America, and Turkey Run State Park's sandstone gorges. Indiana's industrial past, frontier past, and bedrock geology, all in one chain.
