The Dome That Broke Records

West Baden Springs: the 1902 dome that out-spanned the world

In 1902, a resort hotel in tiny West Baden, Indiana raised a 200-foot free-spanning dome, the largest in the world when it opened; no larger one rose anywhere until 1913, and no American building out-spanned it for more than half a century. Fly over it and land at French Lick to walk inside.
